Q. Why have your prices increased?

A. Now that we are Certified with the ACO, all of our ingredients are certified where humanly possible to source, which increases prices significantly. 

We have also had to change a few key ingredients in our formulas. The biggest expense to our new formula's is our preservative system. 

We use to use Grapefruit seed extract, which was natural, however the process of extraction made this ingredient prohibited to use in certified organic formulas. 

Our new preservative system does not include alcohol, a common preservative in other certified organic skincare brands but we do not believe in using alcohol in any of our products, it doesn't make sense to us. 

Our new preservative system includes the following preservatives to keep our products fresh and gives them an 18-24 month shelf life (these preservatives are much more expensive than our previous preservative):

Leucidal preservative:

Leucidal® Liquid is a new, natural preservative from Active Micro Technologies combining the current trends for alternative preservative systems and peptide technology. Derived from radishes fermented with Leuconostoc kimchii, a lactic acid bacteria that has traditionally been used to make kimchi, this product consists of an isolated peptide that is secreted from the bacteria during the fermentation process that has been shown to have antimicrobial benefits. 

PhytoCide Elderberry preservative:

PhytoCide Elderberry OS is a new antimicrobial product developed by Active Micro Technologies. It is an efficacious, multi-functional natural alternative to the traditionally used preservatives in cosmetics and personal care applications.   

 

Q. Why have you become Certified Organic?

A. Since Vanessa Megan became a commercial brand, we have had so many people request that we become certified. From customers to stockists. We too also believe in showing our integrity and transparency through one of Australia's leading Certified organic bodies - ACO (Australian Certified Organic) so you know and trust that what we say we will deliver. It has taken us three years to get to this stage of development, sourcing the best ingredients and creating the best formulas to give you and your skin the best chance to regenerate completely and honestly naturally. You will notice the improvement to your skin when you use our certified organic products.

Q. Are your products Certified Organic?

A. Yes, all of our products apart from our Shampoo, Conditioner, Room Sprays and Perfume / Colognes are Certified by ACO (Australian Certified Organic).

The reason we have not certified our Shampoo and Conditioner is that the price point would exceed $80 per bottle. As for the perfumes and room sprays you cannot certify water and these items have a high volume of water in them.

Q. Do you post your products overseas?

A. Yes, we post our products overseas. It usually takes 10 – 14 working days parcels to be delivered.

 

Q. Do you accept credit card payments?

A. Yes, we do accept payments by credit card. Choose the option pay by Pay Pal at the checkout and it will automatically transfers you to the web page where you be able to make a payment by card.

 

Q. What are the postage rates?

A. Our postage rates depend on the weight of the order and its final destination. You will be able to see the postage cost at the checkout.

Q. Where are your products made?

A. All our products made at the Vanessa Megan laboratory based in Sydney, Australia. All made by hand with Love. 

 

Q. What ingredients do you use to make your products?

A. Vanessa Megan only uses the very best natural and organic quality ingredients. All ingredients are 100% natural and organic. No chemicals, mineral oils, parabens, PEG's, artificial preservatives, colours or fragrances are used. You can view individual ingredients in each product on the product web pages.

 

Q. When should I use the Resuscitate Anti-ageing Serum?

A. Use the Resuscitate Anti-ageing Serum once a day preferably at night. Apply on to the clean skin before an application of your moisturizer. It’s an oil-free product. 

 

Q. Which moisturizer from your range is good for normal skin?

A. The best moisturize for the normal skin is the White Tea Cream. If you prefer oil base moisturizes we recommend to use the Natures Elixir Face Oil (N.E.O.). 

 

Q. Which products from your range are good for oily skin?

A. Cleanse your skin with the Clementine Foaming Cleanser and moisturize with the White Tea - Day Cream formulated specifically for the oily skin. 

 

Q. Which products are good for acne and problematic skin? 

A. With acne skin, we recommend the Petitgrain Cream Cleanser and Natures Elixir Face Oil (N.E.O.). We advise to put all other skincare products aside for at least one week, so they can experience instant results from using these products. On our website, you can view the video on each of these products with recommendations how to use the products to get the best results. 

 

Q. Which essential oils should be avoided during pregnancy?

A. We recommend to avoid the following essential oils while you are pregnant: nutmeg, which may have hallucinogenic effects and react with pain-relieving drugs in labour, rosemary, which is known to increase blood pressure, and may cause contractions; basil, which is known to contribute to abnormal cell development; jasmine and clary sage, which may trigger contractions; sage, which may cause bleeding in your uterus (womb); juniper berry, which may affect your kidneys.

 

Q. What would you recommend for skin damage caused by sun exposure?

A. Vanessa Megan Rosehip Revitalizing Face Oil contains the certified organic Rosehip oil that is high in Vitamin C, A, Beta-carotine. Beta-carotene – a source of pro-vitamin A and an antioxidant to help improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin. It can also help to prevent the signs of ageing. Vitamin C – this is an antioxidant that protects against free radical damage and it also plays a role in the formation of collagen. All skin types can benefit from the face oil. Q. How often should I cleanse my face?

A. Cleansing once a day would be sufficient. We recommend cleansing your face at night. Use the Petitgrain Cream Cleanser and a face washer to massage and exfoliate the skin. This lightweight cleanser perfectly removes the make-up and pollutants of the day. It contains essential oils of Petitgrain and Lemongrass which known for their antibacterial, anti-fungal and sedative properties. The cleanser clears up and tones the skin. One of the base oils is organic jojoba oil that moisturises while you cleanse your face. 

 

Q. How often should I use your exfoliating cleanser?

A. Exfoliating is an important and necessary part of any skin care regime. The Rosemary Exfoliating Cleanser has micro–fine soft and round jojoba wax beads. It removes dead skin cells and ease penetration of active ingredients of face oils or moisturizes. Our recommendation is to use the exfoliating cleanser 2-3 times a week. Use a face washer to strengthen the exfoliation. 

 

Q. I have recently had a problem with my eyelids being very dry, itchy and flaky so need to find something that will not cause this. Could you recommend something from your range?

A. We recommend our Vanessa Megan Resuscitate Anti-ageing Eye Cream. Infused with organic oils, butters and extracts, it smoothens fine lines and brings a healthy brightness to the delicate skin around eyes. The cucumber extract, the white tea extract and essential oil of rose is cooling and soothing components in the eye cream.

 

Q. Is it safe to use your products during pregnancy? 

A. It is safe to use our products during pregnancy. Most of Vanessa Megan products have only 1% dilution of essential oils. We would recommend avoid using body sprays as they have more than 1% dilution of essential oils. It’s recommended avoid usage of such essential oils nutmeg, rosemary, basil, jasmine, clary sage, juniper berry while you are pregnant.

 

Q. Are your products vegan?

A. All our products are vegan, except our balms that contain beeswax. 

 

Q. How to use Vanessa Megan airless bottles and pumps?

A. We choose to use airless bottles, as they help to keep our certified organic product fresher than jars or other regular bottles and pumps. It omits air getting to the product, helping keep it’s shelf life and longer. There are a few ways to use the airless pumps if you are having difficulties removing a product from the bottle.

Our airless bottles have no dip tube, but rather a diaphragm that rises to evacuate the product. When you depress the pump, it creates a vacuum effect, drawing the product upwards. You can use almost all of the products without any waste left. 

Because it is an airless pump, there is no tube inside and the pump/lid should NOT be removed if at all possible, this can contaminate the product and can compromise the vacuum effect. When you first get your product, you will most likely need to pump it 20-30 times to create a seal and get your cream flowing. After this first time, it shouldn't need pumping and should work as normal. 

If you have already removed your pump, please screw it back on tightly. After you have done this, tap the bottle on a hard surface 2-3 times. You will then need to pump the moisturizer approximately 30 times to expel any air that you let in by opening the bottle.

If you are still unable to access your cream, please try removing the black "stopper" from the bottom of your product. You may need to use a small paper clip or bobby pin to hook through the small hole at the bottom to provide leverage. Once removed, you will have access to reach up and push the clear plastic stopper up toward the dispenser. After this, please replace the black stopper and try pumping your product again.
